North Carolina Tarheels Fall to Florida Atlantic 3-2. Winner Take All Game on Monday for NCAA Regional Title
North Carolina only gave up three hits but one was a three run bomb in the bottom of the 7th and that was enough to give Florida Atlantic the win 3-2. Carolina had 12 hits but left 14 runners on base for the game.
Chaz Frank, senior shortstop from Lexington, was 4-5 and scored one of the Tarheel's two runs.
Florida Atlantic did not get their first hit until the seventh inning, but it was a 3-run home run by Ricky Santiago that put the Owls in front and they held on for the win at Boshamer Stadium Sunday.
Senior RHP Chris Munnelly will take the mound for UNC as the two teams will play a winner-take-all game Monday night at 6 p.m. for the NCAA Regional title.
