Five Star Basketball Recruit Theo Pinson Commits to the University of North Carolina Tarheels

High Point Wesleyan’s Theo Pinson (one of the nation's top juniors), has committed to play college basketball for the North Carolina Tarheels today.

More from CBS Sports:
When we spoke with Theo Pinson in late April, he said he wanted to trim his list soon. And then suddenly last Saturday, reports surfaced that Pinson was cutting his list to five — and ready to make a decision.
That decision came on Wednesday afternoon: Pinson is headed to North Carolina.
The 6-foot-5 wing from Wesleyan Christian Academy (NC) chose the Tar Heels over primary competition from Indiana, although Louisville, Georgetown and Duke were also in his final five.
Being an in-state prospect, the pull to stay home was too strong for Pinson. He’s only a short drive to Chapel Hill, and he took several unofficial visits to the Tar Heels’ campus. With people constantly in his ear about playing for the home-state powerhouse, Pinson ultimately couldn’t say no. For more on this story, go here.
Pinson became the third member of the North Carolina 2014 recruiting class announcing his commitment on Wednesday. The 6-6, 180 lb high school junior is presently ranked in the top 20 by Scout(#18), Rivals(#15) and ESPN(#13). He joins PG Joel Berry and WF Justin Jackson giving Carolina three consensus top 25 recruits in the class. Looks like Roy is bring in some top-notch talent in 2014.  Watch out Duke!
