Umpire, Stay Home (Fieldin Culbreth's Bad Luck)

Bad luck must be following umpire Fieldin Culbreth.  Fresh off his two game suspension for the botched call in the Angels-Astros game last Thursday, Culbreth had more bad luck Tuesday night. Working home plate in the game between the Pirates and the Brewers, Culbreth, in the 11th inning, on the 0-1 pitch from Pittsburgh's Vin Mazzaro, got nailed with a foul off the bat of Yuniesky Betancourt.  The foul came straight back and got wedged between the mask and chest protector, landing directly on the collarbone area. Preliminary reports say that he sustained a broken clavicle.

Following a brief break to enable him to don the plate umpire's gear, the game resumed with Bill Welke calling pitches and Adrian Johnson and Brian O'Nora manning the bases.

I think if I was Culbreth I would take it easy for a while.  Just lay around the house and wish for good luck.  You know, they do say that bad things come in threes...
